Set in the heart of the West Island in historical Pointe-Claire Village, Om West is a thriving yoga, massage and wellness centre. An sanctuary for peace, inspiration and personal growth is at the heart of the West Island's social, cultural and spiritual community.
Om West was founded by Gigi Cohen in 1996 under the name Centre Holistique de Pointe-Claire. We are proud to have hosted teachers such as Darby and Dr. Bali who are today legends of the Montreal Yoga community.
From 2007-2011, Om West was operated by Yasmin F. Gow. During those years, she brilliantly established at the studio a Guinness Record for the longest continuous Yoga Practice. She also undertook the full renovation of the studio, doubling its size and giving it its current form.
Since Jan-1, 2012, Om West is owned and run with devotion by Antoine Tinawi and Pamela Gooria who are teachers with the Art of Living Foundation, one of the most prestigious schools of yoga, and direct disciples of one of India's most renowned spiritual masters Sri Sri Ravi Shankar.
Under their leadership, the number of classes, the number of teachers and the number of members have all doubled and the studio has become one of Montreal's top destinations for learning yoga in all its aspects including more advanced, spiritual, and traditional aspects of yoga such as meditation, breathing techniques, Ayurveda, philosophy and mantras.
The studio has also evolved into a holistic wellness centre where people can receive therapeutic, relaxation, or energetic massages of surprising diversity including very sought out Thai, Japanese, Tibetan and Indian styles. Our team has also grown to include holistic services in Osteopathy, Ayurveda and Acupuncture.
Om West quickly distinguished itself with Yoga Alliance to become a certified yoga school as well as a certified massage school where students can receive training to become registered yoga teachers or registered massage therapists.
For decades, Om West has been known for its community involvement. Currently, the studio is offering numerous free community activities allowing people to meet in a spirit of celebration of diversity, peace and harmony.
Whether you come to Om West, for yoga, for massage, or simply to say hello, you will take part in shaping one of the West Island's most thriving, uplifting and inspiring communities!
